What to check before choosing
Compare current general-ledger plans with receivables, payables and controls. Standalone Fast File was retired in March2026; its historical tax-only features must not be presented as current Juan Accounting plan entitlements.
Compare real entitlements: Xero Standard versus Premium; QuickBooks Simple Start versus Essentials; QNE Essential versus Professional; SIMSO Basic versus Pro; Quenta MSME Starter versus Growth; Juan Essentials versus quoted Growth. Verify seat, entity, branch, document and AI limits separately.
Separate current recurring fees from promotions and future increases. Xero USD price changes take effect on 1 November 2026; QNE annual monthly equivalents require annual commitment; Quenta introductory prices expire. QuickBooks PH-linked regular USD bases are documented; converted/promotional prices and customer taxes remain separate.
Run a sample month through opening balances, uncleared bank transactions, sales and supplier bills, VAT/withholding, corrections, asset depreciation, close/locks and accountant export. Branch support does not establish consolidated multi-company accounting.
Test AI with actual Philippine documents and require evidence of extraction quota, account coding, output language and review controls. JAX output review language alone does not establish a pre-posting approval gate; Juan agent rules need explicit configuration.
A vendor BIR-ready claim does not establish taxpayer authorisation. BIR RMC 98-2026 distinguishes a CAS PTU/Acknowledgement Certificate from a Permit to Issue electronic invoices, and separates electronic invoicing from electronic sales reporting. Confirm the applicable workflow and current authority with the accountant.
